

PEKIN ~ Luetta Everly, 86, of Pekin left the loving arms of her family and stepped into the arms of her Lord and Savior at 3:43 a.m. on Monday July 28, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital of Peoria.
She was born at home to Paul and Maudina (Pherigo) Atterberry. She married Charles Everly on November 17, 1957 in Chandlerville.
Luetta is a loving and devoted mom to Paul (Jane) Everly, Sr. and Karen (Rick) Brewer. She is grandma to Paul (Kailey) Everly, Jr., JohnMarc (Tyne) Everly, Nathaniel Everly, Rachel (Christopher) Dean and Leah (Brenden) Williams. She is granny to 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way. She lived for her family.
She was blessed to have an amazing bond with her twin sister Rosetta and her brother-in-law, Byron.
Luetta was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Charles; great grandbaby, Masyn; granddaughter, Sarah; her brother, Melford and her parents.
Luetta had a strong Christian faith and stood by her husband’s side as he pastored Zion Baptist Church for 57 years.
She loved being a homemaker and was a great cook. She loved to cook large family holiday dinners and Sunday dinners until she couldn’t lift the pans and big bowls.
Anyone who knew her knew she loved to talk on the phone, and she loved her cell phone and Facebook, and you never knew what kind of post you might see that she would accidentally post.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Her visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Pastor Brenden Williams and Associate Pastor JohnMarc Everly will officiate. Her burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chandlerville Cemetery.
