
Born June 17, 1929 in Fulton County to Chauncey and Bernice (Miller) Fouts, he married Jo Ann Berry on December 18, 1965 in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Steven B. (Kimberly) Fouts of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Matthew Fouts, Kailey Fouts and Connor Fouts; one sister, June (Bill) Davenport of Havana and several nieces and nephews including his niece, Lisa Dietsch of Havana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father who helped raise him, Berl Weaver; one infant son, Lyle M. Fouts, Jr. and two sisters.
Sonny was a Korean War Army veteran.
He was a retired member of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria, where he worked out of for 35 years.
Sonny was a member and past master of Canton Lodge 734, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears and had a love for dogs, especially for his beloved Benji.
No services or visitation are planned. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana at a later date.
