Margaret H Ritchie

Born January 12, 1922 in Bartonville to Thomas and Lillian (Hiem) Mattocks, she married Donald A. Ritchie on April 5, 1947 in Pekin.  He died October 11, 2008 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Thomas Charles Ritchie in 1996, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra (Scot) Borton of Delavan, Pamela (Greg) Scoles and Donna (Jeff) Rademaker, both of Pekin; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pekin.

She was proud to have served in the United States Army in the Women’s Army Air Corp. during World War II.

Margaret worked as a table lady for American Distillery in Pekin until its closing.  She then worked for 20 years at County Market in Pekin, last working in March of this year.

She liked to bowl, play cards and especially Thanksgiving bingo with her family.  She loved playing the nickel slots in Iowa.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and shopping with her daughters.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, ASpril 7, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Pekin.  Pastor Michael R. McLeod will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.  Arrangements were entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
