

Born September 16, 1926 in St. Joseph County, Indiana to Edwin and Sophia (Miller) Miller, he married Mildred James on April 10, 1949 in Rochester, Indiana. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Ronald E. Miller of Clearwater, Florida; one daughter, Shirley J. (Bruce) McCoige of Pekin; one granddaughter, Kellie Lynn (Nathaniel) Ash of Pekin; one great-granddaughter, Ericka Nicole Ash of Pekin; one brother, Everett (Sally) Miller of Pendleton, Indiana and two sisters, Evelyn Keller of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Joann Stevens of Clearwater, Florida.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Curtis McCoige on April 9, 1999 in Pekin and two brothers, Melvin Miller and Edwin Miller, Jr.
Marion attended Mishawaka, Indiana schools and moved to a farm near Argos, Indiana.
A World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theater, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1162 in Plymouth, Indiana.
He was a retired member of Bricklayers Union Local #4 in South Bend, Indiana, where he worked out of for many years. He previously worked for South Bend Lathe and The Studebaker Corporation. He also worked as a handyman doing carpentry and electrical work. He enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing.
He was a longtime and devoted member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Indiana.
His funeral will be at noon Thursday, May 18, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Steven J. Resner will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006at Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Indiana.
