Martha J Barbour

Born May 3, 1937 in Sullivan, Indiana to Hobert and Mildred Rose (White) Dale, she married Edward Dean Barbour in October, 1955 in Pekin. He died June 27, 1973 near Chetek, Wisconsin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; one sister and her longtime companion, Kenny Smith.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise L. (Johnny) Evans of Hartville, Missouri; one son, Donald D. (Wendy) Barbour of Pekin; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Glen Robert "Bob" (Connie) Dale of Emden and one sister, Nancy (Jim) Laugh of Armington.

She last worked as a cashier for Phar Mor in Springfield, Missouri. Marty previously worked as a supervisor for Foster & Gallagher in Peoria until its closing, then for Corn Products Company in Pekin and for Caterpillar, Inc.

Marty was a member of the Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869 Ladies Auxiliary.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
