Martha H Garrett

PEORIA ~ Martha Helen Garrett, 95, of 1500 West Northmoor Road, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.  She was a former 53 year resident of Pueblo, CO. 

She was born February 1, 1916 in Canton to Henry and Minnie (Meyers) Gerrietts.   Her parents preceded her in death.  She also was preceded in death by three brothers; six sisters and her niece and caregiver, Beverly Verardo.

Surviving are eight nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Larry Verardo.Martha worked as a waitress in Pueblo, CO area for many years at various restaurants including the Pueblo Country Club.  She also volunteered at Parkview Hospital at Pueblo, CO for over 15 years.

She enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, and helping others.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pueblo, CO.

Her graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.  The Rev. Barry A. Long will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
