Mary I Bennett

Born November 7, 1935 in Franklin to John Lewis and Margaret Ellen (Childers) Lash, she married Larry R. Bennett on March 24, 1956 in Pekin. He died August 3, 1983 in East Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry R. Bennett, II on September 2, 1978 in Peoria; one daughter, Pamela Kay Hogan on August 11, 1988 in Tampa, FL; four brothers, Walter Lewis Lash, James Marian Lash, Robert Donald Lash and Charles Edward “Bud” Lash and two sisters, Eva Louise Flynn and Florence Marie Haley.

Surviving are one grandson, Russell Eugene “Rusty” Cloud, III of Peoria; three brothers, Jesse Clyde Lash of Loami, John Howard (Joyce) Lash of Greenview and Glen Richard (Le) Lash of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews.

Mary formerly attended Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.

A homemaker, Mary was devoted to her grandson.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
