

WASHINGTON ~ Mary Colleen Kellerman, 60 of Washington, affectionately known as “The Queen”, passed away at 4:01 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at her home after bravely fighting an 8 year battle with Multiple System Atrophy.
Born February 16, 1955 in Decatur to Robert and Marilyn (Maple) Kipfer, she married Larry Kellerman on November 7, 1998 in Brimfield. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter; one son; four grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She had worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant for 7 years, last working in 2000. She dearly loved her job and helping others get their health back.
An avid gardener and St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini fan, Colleen also loved her grandchildren; her cat Melo and her snake, Red Eyes. She was also a fan of Blues music.
Colleen requested her brain, eyes and a skin sample be donated to aid with the research of Multiple System Atrophy.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 3 until 6 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Countryside Banquet Hall in Washington, where all who attend will receive a Multiple System Atrophy t-shirt. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colleen Kellerman to benefit Multiple System Atrophy, care of Southside Bank.
