Mary Dobbs

Born May 28, 1922 in Knox County to Arthur and Phoebe (Floren) Wheeler, she married Everett Dobbs on July 19, 1947 in Peoria.   He died April 29, 1980 in Peoria.  She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret; one grandson, John Burnette; two brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Everett (Christine) Dobbs, Jr. of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Mary Deltoro of East Peoria, Rosemary Burnette of Peoria and Theresa Dobbs of Washington.  She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mary had been a member of the Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.

A homemaker, Mary loved to be on the go.  She was an animal lover, and was especially fond of dogs and horses.  She also enjoyed crocheting doll dresses.

Her funeral mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.  Father Michael Andrejek will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.  Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur is assisting the family with arrangements.
