Mary Jo Stanton

Born March 15, 1939 in Pontiac to Gordon W. and Lenora I. (Mills) McCulloch, she married Robert Kenneth Stanton on March 3, 1977 in Pekin. He died January 19, 2005 in Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son and one step-son, Denny Lee Stanton and two brothers.

Surviving are one step-son, Bobby Stanton of Pekin; five step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Heather, Ashley, Jennifer and Jamie; many step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret (Joseph) Lawrence of Peoria and one brother, Bill McCulloch of Herscher.

Mary worked for Kitchen Made Pies in Peoria for many years. She was a fan of the Fighting Illini and Bradley Braves basketball teams.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Barb Payne, Charlotte and Carl Gibbs and Wilanna and Sonny Vogel, her neighbors and friends, for their help in caring for Mary.

Her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
