Mary Sutton Mahan

Born May 23, 1947 in Pekin to Wilbur and Irene (McCants) Sutton, she married Leonard Joe Mahan on June 10, 1985 in Pekin. He survives of Pekin.

Also surviving are one son, Henry (Cynthia) Huskisson of Peoria; two daughters, Deava (David) Hallam of Peoria and Leilanie (Doris Haymon) Huskisson of Pekin; two grandchildren, Temica Leininger of Peoria and Nathaniel Huskisson of Pekin; one great-granddaughter, Camille Armstrong of Peoria; three sisters, Jackie (Jim) Davis of Pekin, Frances (Doc) Chapman and Betty Leininger, both of Hettick; and three brothers, Charles Patterson, and Bill (Pat) Sutton, both of Pekin, and Jim (Nancy) Patterson of Chandlerville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She worked as a CNA for 20 years for several area nursing homes. She also worked in security at Pekin Estates and for Laborers Local #231 for three years.

Mary enjoyed being around her grandchildren. She attended LaMarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Terry Edele will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
