

PEKIN ~ Maxine M. McIntosh, 86, of Pekin Manor, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Pekin Manor.
Born February 9, 1925 in Bloomington to Owen P. and V. Mae (Woodard) Jones, she married Elmer F. McIntosh on June 29, 1949 in Peoria.
Surviving are two sons, Gilbert H. Mooberry of Washington and Terry (Ruth) McIntosh of Pekin; three daughters, Patricia L. Benko of Metamora, Cathy E. (Gary) Howell of Farmington and Linda S. (Jim) Deaton of Washington; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald M. (Evelyn) Jones of Peoria and Wayne J. (Marty) Jones of Norwood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her home and warm heart were always open to everyone. Her devotion to family provided a Christ-like example for all of us to follow. She was a treasure given to us by God and we will miss her dearly.
We are not saying "Goodbye" to this wonderful lady…we are telling her, "Welcome to Heaven!" because we know she is smiling and walking hand in hand with Jesus right now.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Lori, the CNAs and nurses at Pekin Manor for their loving care, as well as the caring Harbor Light Hospice team for making her last days on earth as comfortable as possible.
Maxine's funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Dr. D. Dean Follis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Cemetery in Bloomington.
