Melvin Durward Scott

Born May 28, 1922 in Princeton, KY to Clay and Mary (Orange) Scott, he married Isabell Roberson on October 7, 1950. She died August 28, 1993. He later married Judy Anne (Rollins) Gerdes on January 1, 1995 in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife and her daughter, Melinda “Mindy” Denham of Pekin.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was retired from Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville.

He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship in North Pekin and William Schaefer American Legion Post 44 in Pekin.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at New Life Christian Fellowship in North Pekin. Pastor Gene Hooker and Pastor Chuck Wilcox will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY, with military rites accorded.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
