Michael P Herlihy

Born July 6, 1946 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Kerry Joseph and Rachael (Lemieux) Herlihy, Sr., he married Richye Forbes in Pekin in 1972. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Meaghaen (Kevin) Tobin of Salt Lake, Utah and Kathryn Derrick of Pekin; three sons, Robert Herlihy of Mt. Prospect, David (Gina) Herlihy of Carol Stream and Michael Herlihy of Pekin; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Kerry (Nancy) Herlihy, II of Bedford, New Hampshire and John (Stephanie) Herlihy of New Hampshire.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, David Herlihy.

Michael was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Morton.

He was a high school English and Latin teacher in New Hampshire, and also taught at Illinois Central College and Illinois State University.

He enjoyed doing genealogy and counter cross stitch.

His family will host a memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 2104 S. 14th St. Pekin, IL 61554. There will be no visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
