PEKIN ~ Michael N. Kensinger, 60, of 2408 Court Street, passed away at 8:59 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at the Pekin Hospital emergency Room.Born July 19, 1950 in Peoria to Arthur Norman and Joann Irene (Schmider) Kensinger, he married Beverly J. Fitzpatrick on May 14, 1981 in Pekin. She survives.Also surviving are his mother of Morton; one son, Timothy Dozard of Rantoul; one granddaughter, Melody Marie Dozard of Charleston and one brother, Rev. Rick (Cindy) Kensinger of Groveland.He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Randy Kensinger.Mike was a longtime custodian at the Memorial Arena for the Pekin Park District, last working on Tuesday. He previously worked for Foster & Gallagher in Peoria.He was a member of Grace Fellowship in Morton, where he and his wife where active in Children's Ministry and leading Children's Church. Mike loved working with kids and they considered him a big teddy bear. He formerly attended and taught Sunday school at First Assembly of God in Pekin.Mike loved life. He enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors and especially fishing. His funeral will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Rick Kensinger, his brother and Pastor Bob Martin will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
