Michael McKeown

Born February 18, 1967 in Peoria to John and Paulina (Parker) McKeown, he married Heidi (McClary) Heilman on April 7, 2001 in Groveland. She survives.

Surviving is two step-sons, Chad (Heather) Heilman and Jeff Heilman, both of Pekin; ten step-grandchildren; two siblings, Janelle Dantone of Pekin and Mark (Tracy) McKeown of Manito; one niece, Tara Forbes; two nephews, Austin and Travis McKeown; many great-nieces and nephews, and his cat, Karen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Kyle Heilman; one brother, James McKeown and many uncles.

Mike worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for eight years. Previously he worked at Bloomington Seating Company for 18 years.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, classic muscle cars, dirt bikes, 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers. He was a big NASCAR fan.

Mike was a happy-go-lucky guy who was well loved and had many friends. He would never hurt a fly.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 1-4pm at Pekin Moose Lodge 916, 2605 Broadway Street, Pekin, Illinois 61554. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
