

Born October 8, 1946 in Peoria to Francis and Ruth (Stewart) Palm, he married Sharon Jean Case on January 23, 1970 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael K. (Frances DiBono) Palm of Point Pleasant, New Jersey; one daughter, Stephanie Wehrenberg of Browerville, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Casey (Nikki Jones) Pederson of Alexandria, Minnesota and Travis (Brian) Wehrenberg of Fargo, North Dakota; three great-grandchildren, Zayden Pederson, Hazel Pederson and Blaze Pederson; one sister, Francie Perdue of East Peoria and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Ralph Wehrenberg; two brothers, Kenneth Palm and Ronald Palm; two sisters, Carol Snyder and Joann Orr and his mother and father-in-law.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mike was self-employed and last owned and operated Klean Kar Auto Sales in Peoria. Most of his life he did route sales with Coca Cola, Budweiser, Royal Crown Cola, Seven Up, Inc. and Little Debbie. He was an owner/operator of AAMCO Transmissions in Pekin for several years.
Mike was an avid pool player and had played on many teams playing pool. He also loved fishing and was a motorcycle enthusiast and especially like riding with his son. Mike also enjoyed playing cards with his daughter and son-in-law. He was known to many as the “Candy Man” for passing out candy to everyone he met.
He was a devoted husband and his wife meant the world to him.
His memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Lee Short will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Inurnment will follow the service in War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
