Neva C. Voiles

Born August 27, 1928 in Casey County, Kentucky to Albert and Zuella (Leach) Baxter, she married Reese Voiles on March 17, 1969 in Independence, Missouri. He died March 29, 1985 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Troy Allen Burdett; four brothers, Charles “Hoppy” Baxter, Albert Baxter, Jr., Dallas “Duby” Baxter and Matthew “Mack” Simpson and Patricia Griffin, Lavern Streeval and Dollie Hale.

Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Jim) Havera of Pekin; one son, Tom (Stephanie) Wilson of Hillsboro, Oregon; three grandchildren, Tonya (Alvin) Conklin of Hudson, Todd (Sarah) Burdett of San Diego, California and Tim (Deanna) Burdett of Peoria, Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Beau Burdett of Madison, Wisconsin, Haley Burdett of St. Louis, Missouri, Savannah Burdett, Riley Burdett, both of San Diego, California, Natalie Burdett and Lexi Burdett, both of Peoria, Arizona and two sisters, Betty (Lowell) Moore of Hustonville, Kentucky and Faye Mabrey of Princeton.

She last worked at Benson’s in Pekin and had also been a waitress at the former Ramada Inn in Peoria.

Neva loved flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed nature and bird watching.

Her private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
