

Born January 10, 1938 in Pekin to Wilmer V. and Mildred M. DePeugh Merritt, she married Franklin D. Mock on December 31, 1952 in Pekin. He died October 11, 1991 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Surviving are 4 daughters, Marsha J. (Gene) Piro, Rita F. Mock, Brenda S. (Richard) Wheeler, and Rosalie K. Mock, all of Pekin; 4 sons, Frank R. Mock of Delavan, Fred J. Mock of Manito, Danny E. (Carla) Mock of Winona, Missouri, and Jason M. Mock of Pekin; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 2 sisters, Nina Piro and Wilma (James) Shelby, both of Pekin; and 1 brother, Wilmer "Sonny" (Lisa) Merritt of Pekin; and her boyfriend of over 12 years, Jack Turnpaugh of South Pekin.
A homemaker, she was a member of the New Life Fellowship in North Pekin and formerly attended the First Assembly of God in Pekin.
Norma enjoyed camping, cooking, baking and was a devoted dog lover.
She was a member of TOPS.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Jason Mock and Rev. Eugene Hooker will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
