He was born September 25, 1944 in Peoria to Paul D. and Elizabeth (Sommers) Hill, Sr.
He first married Ingrid J. Ullrich on September 25, 1964. He later married Phyllis Ann Harmon on September 2, 1982 in Lewistown. She survives along with seven children: Timothy (Susan) Hill of Manito, Thomas (Mary) Hill of Manito, Terry (Cindy) Hill of Forest City, Sandy (Beth) Harmon of Manito, Charlie (Amber) Harmon of Eureka, Sara (Jeffrey) Frank of Manito, Mary E. Hill of Pekin; 23 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Floretta (LaVern) Kracht of Minier, Jeanette (Larry) Olson of Hill City, KS, Leah (Richard) Bown of Eureka, and Rosetta Moessner of Fort Collins, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one great-grandson, Wyatt.
Paul was a United States Army veteran serving in Germany. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a machine repairman and buyer for 37 years retiring in 1997 out of the Mapleton plant. He then worked for Mid-America Systems then Flexitech, Inc. in Bloomington. He also owned and operated P&P Construction, building homes for 10 years during the early 2000’s.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a celebration of Paul’s life from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin.
