Perry D. Inman

Perry D. Inman, 75, of Glasford, passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on November 25, 1934 in Vinita, OK to Archie and Dorothy (Lamb) Inman. He married Beverly Hurst on February 26, 1954 in Ferdonia, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly of Glasford; three children: Mark Inman of Glasford, Perri Herod of Lebenworth, KS and Terri (Ed) Best of Glasford. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Cari Herod, Jolie Jackson, Paige Paschal, Michael Dowell, Thad Stanfill Jeramie Best and Brittany Best; one great-grandson: Jeremiah Rice; one sister: Betty Martin of Maryville, MI; one brother: Bill Inman of Beaumont, CA.; and several nieces and nephews.

Perry worked at Page Milk Co. for many years, then for Phillips Petroleum Co.; he was the manager of the Glasford Oil Co. and then worked last in the Forge Shop at Caterpillar Inc in East Peoria for 25 years before retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Glasford United Methodist Church, the Glasford Optimist Club, the Hanna City Sportsman Club, the Farmington Moose Lodge and was a former member of the Nowata, OK Square Dance Club.

Perry enjoyed working on old cars, playing softball, and going to baseball games. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and loved spending time with his family and especially his three granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Glasford United Methodist Church in Glasford, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The rev. Walter Wilkins will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service and burial of the urn will be at a later date at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Kansas. Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin is in charge of arrangements.
