

Born October 19, 1944 in Pekin to Ivan G. and Mary E. (Neikirk) Petty, she married Robert L. Miller on February 1, 1964 in Pekin.
She is survived by one daughter, Trisha Miller of Pekin; one granddaughter, Kahlei Campbell of Pekin; one grandson, Tristan Noah Lee Faichney of Manito; one sister, Mary Ann Marion of Princeton and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a longtime friend, Walter “Eddie” Booe of Plantation, FL.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Bret Lee Miller; one grandson, Todd Collin St. Cerny; two sisters and two brothers.
She was a beauty school graduate and hairdresser for many years. She also worked with her sister Shirley at the Trophy House on Derby Street in Pekin. She then worked for Peoria Civic Center as a catering chef and Kroger’s as bakery manager for 15 years until her retirement in 2012.
Phyllis had been a member of First Christian Church in Pekin.
She had been a member of the AMVETS Post #269 Ladies Auxiliary in Pekin.
Phyllis loved to travel, particularly to Florida and the beach
Her memorial service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Brad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
