

Born December 30, 1926 in Marshall, Missouri to Elmer and Leona (Dial) Vollrath, he married Edna Clause on September 30, 1950 in Marshall. She survives.
Also surviving is his sister, Verda Mullineaux of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorene Vollrath.
Ray was an active member of the Creve Coeur Southern Baptist Church, where he also had served as deacon.
He had worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in material control for 37 years, retiring on December 1, 1985. He managed several rental properties.
Ray loved music and sang with the "Charlie's Angels" group. He loved to fish and work with wood. He built their family home and later built another home.
He had been a former board member and was active in the Peoria Area Blind People's Center. He was also past president of the Caterpillar Retiree's Club.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
