Richard D Tucker

Born Aug. 27, 1929 in Peoria to Delmar and Gertrude (Dancy) Tucker, he married Stella Ewell on Jan. 23, 1953 in Pekin.  She died Jun. 2, 2008 in Pekin.  He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Janet Bridgeman and Phyllis Whitby, both of Pekin, and Judith Homerin of Galesburg; 1 son, James (Deana) Tucker of Manito; several  grandchildren and  great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson..

Richard worked as a correctional officer at the Tazewell County jail.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Creve Coeur

His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his church.   Rev. Dwight Winnett will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
