

Born November 4, 1947, in Wyandotte, Michigan, he was a son of Ancil Franklin and Belva Grethel (Diamond) Lowe. His parents preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a nephew, Tyler Lowe, and brother, Gary Lowe.
Surviving are two brothers, Roger (Sue) Lowe of Pekin and Ronald (Mary) Lowe of Pella, Iowa; three sisters Nancy (Jack, deceased) Murphy, Diane Czarnecki and Betty Stoneburner; three nieces, Heather (Dan) Wilcox, Katie (Josh) Nuss and Sara (Eric) Pullium and six grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bob grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan, and later moved to Pekin during his high school years. He participated in football, track and hockey. He was a member of the Pekin Stars hockey team. Bob graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1965. After high school, he was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company until he was involved in a motorcycle accident which required long rehabilitation and years of care by his parents. Later he participated at TCRC, Tremont, and temporarily relocated to the Marbridge House in Houston, Texas. He moved back to Pekin in 1983. Bob had a passion for riding his bike with his dog Duke, his trusted companion. He was often seen smiling and riding his bike throughout Pekin. In 1992, Bob moved to Waterloo, Iowa, to participate in the HIP (Head Injury Program). He was a client until he moved to St Francis Manor, Grinnell, Iowa, in 2021. Bob was known as Bebo, and had a happy kind personality. He touched many lives on his life journey. He enjoyed Diet Mountain Dew, chocolate candy, BK whoppers, WordSearch puzzles and 1960s music. He had a deep religious faith.

Special thanks to Pat B. and the wonderful staff at HIP EPI/Northstar CS; the caring staff at St Francis Manor who made Bebo‘s life so comfortable and happy; and Care Initiatives Hospice staff, Deb, Doug and Maida, who’s compassion and support given during his last days a special blessing.
His private funeral service will be held at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
