

Born April 16, 1937 in Springfield to John William and Kathryn J. (Lavin) Goodall, he married Patricia Irene Childers on February 26, 1998 in Morton. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Mark William Goodall of Deer Trail, Colorado; two sisters, Judy (Chink) Davis of Pekin and Margaret Goodall of Bellevue, Pennsylvania; one brother, Rev. Thomas Lee (Vickie) Grider of Moss Point, Mississippi. He also leaves his beloved dog, Hope.
Bob had served in the United States Air Force on an S.A.C. base, stationed at St. Charles, Louisiana, and serving under General McArthur.
He worked as a millwright through the Carpenter’s Local Union #237. He had also worked for the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources as a site superintendent at the Mackinaw River State Fish and Wildlife Area.
Bob was a Freelance Outdoor Writer and Past Director and member of the Illinois Duck & Goose Hunters Alliance.
He was on the WMBD Radio Show with Harry Canterbury and the Red Nose Gang. He also made appearances on A.S.O. Television as River Bottom Bob.
He also was an avid lobbyist for the Migratory Water Fowlers.
His visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m., prior to the visitation. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tazewell Animal Protective Society at 100 Taps Ln. Pekin, IL 61554 or to the Migratory Waterfowl Hunters, Inc. at 2404 E. Broadway Alton, IL 62002.
