Rodney E Borgmann

Born November 5, 1950 in Belleville to William H. and Loraine A. (Wolff) Borgmann, he married Kathie Morris in Pekin. He later married Cathy Schierer on July 9, 1999 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Scott (Kim) Borgmann of Pekin, Jeremy (Shawna) Simmons of Castle Rock, CO, Joshua (Trina) Simmons of Peoria Heights, Jason Simmons of Pekin; two daughters, Nicole (Tim) Walgren of Pekin, Julie (Loren) Wright of Peoria; nineteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Borgmann and Nancy Borgmann, both of Centralia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Rod was a 1968 graduate of Okawville High School.

He was a member of the Okawville Church of Christ and had attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Pekin.

He owned and operated “The Barbers” in Pekin for 46 years, last working in May, 2015 due to his health.

A “people person”, Rod never knew a stranger. He was known to be low key and a jokester. He loved his family and was known as “Papa M&M”. He had also enjoyed fishing.

His funeral will be at 6 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Elder William Pawson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 – 5:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
