

Born April 10, 1941 in Pekin to Harold and Ruth (Wells) Cross, he married Sandra P. Story on September 3, 1958 in Lincoln. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Julie A. (John) Wyman of Pekin; one son, Jeremy E. Cross of Pekin; six grandchildren, John Wyman, Mindy Cross, Ronald Wyman, Samantha Cross, Amanda (Brandon) Bailey and Kyle Wyman, all of Pekin; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Esther) Cross of Tremont and Earl Cross of Pekin and three sisters, Neva (Joe) Evans, Janet Smithee and Connie Cross, all of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father who helped raise him, Lloyd Waggner; two sons, Lowell Cross and Ronald Cross; one granddaughter, Cynthia Blu Cross and two sisters, Mary Jane Shepherd and Bonnie Bush.
He was a member and worked line construction out of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 51 in Springfield. He previously worked for Bud VonBoeckman as a painter.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed horse racing and loved to bet on the ponies
He was of the Catholic faith.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Father Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
