

He was born March 2, 1947 in Pekin to Clifford Donald and Kathryn May (Gabeline) Hundt. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Charles “Chuck” (Tonya) Hundt and Scott (Vanessa Henderson) Hundt, both of Pekin; one daughter, Kara (Josh) Hinkle of Hopewell; four grandchildren, Trevor, Tylor, Peyton, Joshua Parker; and one sister, Marjorie (Wayne) Counterman of Pekin.
Ron was a 1965 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Ron worked at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 35 years, retiring in January of 2000 as a rigger welder in mechanical maintenance in the steel mill.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1869 and the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1232, both in Pekin.
Ron enjoyed playing with his dogs, feeding the fish in his pond, and working on his property with his tractors.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11 am to 3 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Pekin Eagles Lodge, 274 Derby Street in Pekin.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
