

Born May 2, 1951 in Pekin to Raymond E. and Amy (Jaggers) Richey, he married Billie Maquet on November 14, 1970 in Pekin. He later married Myrtle Hony on July 7, 1986 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Cave City, KY; two sons, Zachary Richey of Peoria and Sean Hony of Delavan; two sisters, Cathy Vincent of Cave City, KY and Melissa (Timmy) Miller of Bowling Green, KY.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, David Richey.
Ronald had worked in the skilled trades at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years. He retired on May 1, 2000.
He was a past member of the National Bluegrass Association and United Auto Workers Local #974.
Ronald loved to play and sing Bluegrass and gospel music. He also loved working with wood. After his retirement, he started his crafts business selling his woodworking creations. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Steve Higgs and Pastor Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
