Roy V Graves

Born March 19, 1929 in Decatur, Alabama to William J. and Ollie L. (Owens) Graves, he married Raye Belle McMeans on February 13, 1949 in Alcorn County, Mississippi. She died January 10, 2015 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, J.B. Graves.

Surviving are one son, Roy Steven (Bonnie) Graves of Groveland; four grandchildren, Brian (Beth) Graves, Beth (David) Cooper, Amy Graves, all of Pekin and Chad Graves of Columbia, South Carolina and four great-grandchildren.

Roy worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1982 as a machinist.

He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Roy also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

His visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Private graveside services will be held Wednesday afternoon in Groveland Evangelical Mennonite Church Cemetery.
