Sandra Lee Lauss

Born September 27, 1939 in Streator to Rev. Eugene Burt “Bud” and Helen Elizbeth (Hawkins) Talbot, she married Charles F. Lauss on September 1, 1956 at Creve Coeur Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband of 69 years of Pekin; three sons, Chuck (Gaye) Lauss of Warrenville, South Carolina, Scott (Dawn) Lauss of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Paul (Debbie) Lauss of Joliet; one daughter, Rebecca (Dennis) Johanson of Pekin; five grandchildren, Kristen Nicole (Jason) Schrock of Roscoe, Elizabeth Ann (Kirby Thurston) Lauss of Portland, Oregon, Jeremiah Frederick Lauss, Kaysandra Aleese Lauss, both of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Sarah Katherine Lauss of Joliet; one great-grandson, Gavin Paul Miller; one brother, David (Emly) Talbot of Pekin; one sister, Helen Geanne (David) Cruz of Chatsworth, California and one brother-in-law, Chuck Holmes of Yucca Valley, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Christian Scott Lauss and Quenton William Lauss and one sister, Judith L. Holmes.

Sandra will be remembered as a fun-loving, tenderhearted woman whose steady devotion shaped the lives of those around her. She was a homemaker, and her commitment simply was home. Her family was her greatest passion. She loved her kids and grandkids and liked trying to outplay her kids in younger years. She had an amazing sense of humor, and she was lovingly known as Nana to her grandkids and GiGi to her great-grandchildren.

Sandra was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church, where she volunteered with their food bank and participated in the Book Club.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Plunkett and Pastor Bill Holley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will follow in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
