Scott William Rasmussen

Born August 5, 1953 in Peoria to Donald Nels and Madelyn L. (Delaney) Rasmussen, he married Dana (Dorsey) Powers in June of 1977 in Peoria. He later married Tamera Lynn Johnstone on October 31, 1993 in Peoria. She died February 5, 2021 in East Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Surviving are his mother of Peoria; one daughter, Jennifer A. Mullens of Richmond, Virginia; one son, Jason Rasmussen of Pekin; six grandchildren and one sister, Susan (Philip Wiggers) Rasmussen of Peoria.

He was a graduate of Illinois Central College and the American Institute of Banking.

Scott starting his working career selling new and used cars for Joe McCarthy Oldsmobile in Peoria. He then worked as a Finance Director for Bob Grimm Chevrolet in Morton from 1986 to 1990. He then worked as a finance director for Ford Motor Company starting in 1990, working in Illinois and Iowa until retirement with more than 20 years of service.

Scott was a former member of the Kiwanis Club in Peoria Heights and was an avid coin collector.

He was of the Catholic faith.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
