Sharon Kay Howell

Born March 17, 1939 in Pekin to Earl Arthur and Irene (Gianessi) Lundeen, she married Harold James “Jim” Howell on September 8, 1994 at Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.

Also surviving are six children, Lori Ann (Randy) Fraboni of Metamora, Cynthia “Cindy” (Richard) Beasley of Bourbonnais, Jay (Eva) Howell of Edwardsville, Patricia Lynn (Darin) St. Ivany of Manhattan Beach, California, Carla (Pete) Kinsey of Edwardsville and Kathy (Shary) Waeckerle of Arnold, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, Andrea (Mike) Person, Martina (Jason) Smith, Vince (Emily Albright) Fraboni, Jennifer (Brian) Kustwin, Ryan Beasley, Danielle (Tyler Horton) Beasley, Lucas Howell, Justin Howell, Jessica (Emily) Howell, Jack St. Ivany, Bella St. Ivany, Tucker St. Ivany, Sam (Hannah) Fink, Olivia Fink, Stephen Waeckerle and Ashley (Joe) Case and thirteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves her little dog, Angel.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Sharon was a 1957 graduate of Pekin Community High School.

She worked for the Tazewell County Recorder of Deeds Office for 18 years, retiring in 2002.

Sharon formerly enjoyed bowling in a scratch league and was an avid card player. Her world was her grandchildren and she loved to travel with her husband, Jim. She was a member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673, Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 and Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Judy Doyle will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
