Sharon Kay Rockhold-Gardner

Born December 25, 1945 in Peoria to Glen and Nellie (Smith) Armstrong, she married Orren Richard Rockhold, Sr. on February 19, 1966. He died June 26, 1996. She later married Howard Lee Gardner on October 2, 2010 in Pekin. He died November 17, 2011.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two daughters, Michelle (Rich Anliker) Rockhold and Tabitha (Bobby Dale) Rockhold, both of Pekin; four sons, Ricky Jefford-Rockhold, Orren (Christine) Rockhold, Jr. of South Pekin, Robert Rockhold and Tracy Rockhold, both of Pekin; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one brother, David (Billie) Armstrong of Pekin.

A homemaker, Sharon loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting, drawing and writing poems. She was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals Fan.

A gathering celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
