Shirley M Welch

Born August 4, 1934 in Peoria to Bernard and Mina (Walters) Hagemeier, she married James Welch. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ricky Johnson; one daughter, Kathleen Welch; one sister, Dorothy; and three brothers, Bernard, Don, and Carl.

Surviving are three daughters, Colleen (Ralph) Raithel, Patricia Wilson, and Sheryl Bratton, all of Peoria; three sons, James (Bonnie) Welch, Jr. of Kewanee, Robert Welch of East Peoria, and Kelly Welch of Peoria; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Stafford of Delavan, and one brother, Robert Hagemeier of Metamora.

A member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington, she was a long-time member of the former Morgan Street Baptist Church in Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Bayview Baptist Church, 22648 Grosenbach Road in Washington, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Keith Thibo will officiate. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
