Stephen Wing Swanson

Born February 18, 1946, in Galesburg to Harley and Helen (Wing) Swanson, he married Barbara Rollins in 1966 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are their children, Eric (Elisha) Swanson and Erin (Mark Frederick) Johnson, both of Pekin; nine grandchildren, Ethan, Elahson, Emilia, Eli, Charlee, Cash, Sophie, Bo and Finn; one great-granddaughter, Eydie and his sister, Susan (Bill) Calvert, also of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Swanson.

Stephen was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in Asbach, Germany from 1966 to 1969.

A proud entrepreneur, Stephen was the President and CEO of Holland Specialty and Aaron Services where he worked alongside his son. He loved his work, but spending time with his family outdoors was important to him. Riding four-wheelers and shooting guns were some of his hobbies and in his younger years he played golf.

A gathering celebrating Stephen’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
