

Born May 7, 1954 in New Orleans to Dr. J. William and Harriet (Stern) Rosenthal, she married Dr. James W. Farrell on August 28, 1977 in New Orleans. He survives.
Also surviving are her father and step-mother, Dr. J. William and Beth Isaacson Rosenthal of New Orleans; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Farrell of Boston, Massachusetts and Whitney A. Farrell of Pekin and one brother, Paul W. Rosenthal of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Her mother preceded her in death.
She was a 1976 graduate of Syracuse University, where she studied Theater Arts. While in Syracuse and in New Orleans she was an Emergency Medical Technician.
Sue touched countless lives of children, adults and wildlife through her community volunteerism and passion for animals. She was a dedicated member of the TAPS Board of Directors and volunteered the past 10 years with the Sun Foundation at Art & Science in the Woods, where she taught her love for pottery and ceramics that she had learned at Tulane University.
She also served on the YWCA Board of Directors and its Childcare Committee. She was a former member of the United Way of Pekin and organized the successful Mall-o-ween fundraiser. She was an organizer of the Pekin Area Swim Team.
She was a member of Congregation Anshai Emeth in Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rabbi Shlomo Wing will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 2675 Allentown Road, Pekin, IL 61554 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
