Born September 7, 1951 in Chicago to Donald and Dorothy (Eggen) Andersen, she married Michael Herring on June 15, 1974 in Chicago.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter Karen (Bradley) Carter of Peoria; one son, Christopher Herring of Green Valley; and three grandsons, Jacob, Chase, and Gabriel Carter.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
A homemaker, she had also worked for Community Care in Pekin for 3 years.
Susan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a devout Christian who enjoyed her daily Bible studies.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Steven Hauter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
