We are anxious to offer condolences to the entire Ripper family, especially Rip.  Losing a sister is a life changing event and you will have our prayers throughout it.  Susie was the one to be around for interesting conversation which she loved as she did her traveling and beautiful quilts.  She was a "nurse's nurse," one that could handle anything and we'll never know the number of lives she touched through her nursing.

Sue and I were both born in 1950 in Pekin, IL, and have been life-long friends since our days together at Pekin Community High School.  She stayed in Pekin all her life while I lived in many metro cities.  She was a nurse and I am a missionary and ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church.  We shared a love for people and compassion and service to the poor.  We both chose care-giving professions as a result of that compassion.  Sue gave selflessly to help anyone in need.  She had a servant's heart, and was constantly doing practical acts of service.  Her faith was solid and orthodox, unshakeable.  She was bold,creative, and full of the joy of life.  II Cor. 4:16-17 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory!..."

Thinking of all of you Rippers and Chris, but especially Susie, who we always thought of as someone who put her family first.  A loving daughter, a loyal sister, and a great aunt, we'll miss her conversations and company.  She taught us all to carry on through thick and thin. Now she's finally at peace, having lived life with gusto centered around her family, friends, and a career she loved. We were lucky to know her.  Take care.  We know you'll miss this big part of your family.   

John and Marianne, Steve and I were so sorry to hear of your loss.  Just remember when someone becomes a memory you treasure every memory you have of that person.  Blessings your way with prayers and prayers for safe travels too.

Sue was one of the most open direct people I had ever met. She had a dry sense of humor that was wonderful and at times you had to be looking at her to see she was not serious. I learned so much from her as a nurse  and as a friend.  Also as a fellow cancer patient, I saw a courage and a determination to survive  and live each life daily in the present. Sue will be missed by everyone who ever met her. Mentor, friend, teacher,co-worker,nurse,daughter,sister Sue wore a lot of hats in her life> I think nurse was her favorite.  The best tribute I could give to Sue would be, she enjoyed life to the fullest and if I could do the same then I could hope to  mean as much or even half as much to those around me as Sue did to all who met and knew her.

There are people who are truly 'one of a kind'.  Sue was just that kind of person.  It was my privilege to know her as a friend and as a fellow nurse for the entire length of her career.  Heaven is a better place now that Sue is there just as my life was made richer by knowing her.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Sue. I worked with her for years at Methodist. She was a great nurse! She took care of me when I was critically ill in ICU 17 years ago. She is one of the reasons I'll alive today! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

With deep sympathy to your family . I knew Sue from Girl Scouts and from working with her at Methodist. She also took good care of my brother when he was in Methodist. She was an exceptional person!!! She will be missed.

My sincerest condolences to Sue's family. Although we had lost contact, we were very good friends in nurses' training. We were in the same study group and also socialized with those same people. She took care of the cake table at my wedding. I just want to say what you all already know, Sue was a wonderful, caring and compassionate person with a good sense of humor. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

God rest your soul, you were an angel on earth and now in heaven. You were so good to my family, helping my dad when he was passing of colon cancer and comforting my mom after he passed. Now you are at peace and are no longer in pain. Live your eternal life knowing you made a difference on earth. Chuck and Tracie Flynn.

Susan - I wish I had known you as an adult.  

I do remember you as a child.  I remember spending weekends together at my Aunt Mag's home (your grandmother).  I remember her introducing us to canned Mushroom Soup, which we loved, and something made with rabbit which we most definitely did NOT love!  

I have been gone from the Peoria area for a very, very long time, and I'm sorry that our paths did not cross later in life.  

I didn't know until tonight that you were a nurse.  I'm proud of you for answering that call.

Obviously, through your work and personal life, you have touched many, many people who will long remember you.

You and your family are in my prayers tonight.

Sue was the most giving person I have ever known. I am thankful that the battle is over. May you rest in peace.
