Thomas "Tom" Charles Shryock

Born September 20, 1953 in Peoria to Charles and Shirley (Hubbart) Shryock, he married Kathy Deweese in Hearne, Texas. She died July 24, 2002 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Andrea Hill.

Surviving are one son, Chris (Dawn) Allen of Pekin, one daughter, Cassie Allen of Panama City Beach, Florida; three grandchildren, Dilon Allen, Conor Allen and Cathi Allen; one brother, Virgil Shryock of Cade Lake, Texas; one sister, Judy (Joe) Jackson of Green Valley and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Vietnam War.

He had worked for the City of Pekin as a maintenance man retiring in 2018.

An avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, Tom enjoyed fishing, collecting eagles and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Vaughn will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Military rites will be provided by the United States Navy and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
