
Born January 23, 1943 in Union City, Tennessee to Joseph and Martha (Baulch) Curry, she married Vernon R. Retzer on December 24, 1961 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother of Pekin, two sons, Jim (Allison) Retzer of Springfield and Jeff (Cheral) Retzer of Waynesville, Missouri; two daughters, Lori Retzer of Pekin and Gayle (Andy) Dvorak of Columbia, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Joshua Retzer, Alecia Retzer and Zachary Retzer, all of East Peoria, Megan Dvorak, Alex Dvorak and Stephen Dvorak, all of Columbia, Tennessee, and Rebecka Retzer, Trenton Retzer, and Samantha Retzer, all of Waynesville, Missouri; five brothers, Robert (Annabeth) Curry of Ardmore, Alabama, Larry (Jane) Curry of Posen, Illinois, Jerry (Betty) Curry of Madison, Alabama, Carl (Mary) Curry of Waterloo, South Carolina, and Bill (Donna) Curry of Lexington, Illinois.She had many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, and two sisters, Betty Louise Curry and Mary Katherine Storck.A homemaker, Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family.
A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, she was currently a member of the Pekin Church of Christ.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2007at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Jerry Curry and Larry Curry will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
