Wanda L Pearce

Born April 25, 1930 in White County, AR to Ernest Foster and Ina Elizabeth (Ironside) McAdams, she married Henry L. Pearce on September 15, 1947 in Searcy, AR. He died July 13, 1996 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Samuel Ray Pearce on September 15, 1999 in Peoria and Michael L. Pearce on December 18, 2012 in Peoria; three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Rickey L. (Mary) Pearce of Alice, TX; one daughter, Anna M. “Missy” (Gary) Simpson of Pekin; her daughter-in-law, Carol Pearce of East Peoria; seven grandchildren, Diana L. Pearce, Jason I. (Aimee) Pearce, Anthony C. Pearce, Joshua M. (Dorothy) Pearce, Kelly L. (Michelle) Pearce, Kiersten A. Barron and Trent A. Barron; seventeen great-grandchildren and one brother, Ernest Cleneth “Bud” McAdams of Bradford, AR.

A homemaker, Wanda was a foster mother for 14 years, caring for 54 children in her home. She formerly enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening.

She attended Grace Chapel Baptist Church in Marquette Heights and was a former member of Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church in East Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. The Rev. George E. Walker will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria.
