

CREVE COEUR ~ William Robert Herrmann, 85, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, January 03, 2015 at Unity Point Health – Methodist.
Born January 22, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to William Joseph and Myrtle Ruth (Paulson) Herrmann, he married Donna Ray Bennett on April 15, 1972 in Peoria. He later married Carole Lawson on June 5, 1994 in Metamora. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, William Ray (Carrie) Herrmann of Yelm, Washington; one daughter, Andrea (Todd Svendsen) Jackson of Pekin; six grandchildren; two step-daughters, Rhonda (David) Sturgeon and Crystal Foster, both of Galesburg; six step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Bloom of Hayward, California; one niece, Jodie Bloom of Hayward, California; and one nephew, Jack Bloom of Jacksonville, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was 1947 graduate of Woodruff High School. He remained active with the reunion committee.
He enjoyed being an active member of the Barbara Fairchild Ministries in Branson, Missouri.
Bill worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville and East Peoria as a machine operator, retiring in 1988.
He loved playing golf, especially with his family. He loved the time he spent working on the golf course in Branson, Missouri. He also enjoyed square dancing.
His memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Johnny Creasong will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to an education fund for his grandchildren in c/o Heartland Bank or to the Creve Coeur Fire Department at 203 Wagner Dr. Creve Coeur, IL 61610.
