William E Melton

Born November 25, 1930 in Peoria to Ellis and Mary (Burgard) Higham Melton, he married Wilma Hoerr Ales on December 26, 1970 in Pekin. 

Surviving are his wife; one son, Kevin (Jodi) Ales of South Pekin; 2 daughters, Catherine (Richard) Enlow of Springfield, Missouri and Christine Willis of Pekin; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard “Poncho”(Marilyn) Melton of  Bartonville; and 1 sister-in-law, Shirley (Charles) Melton of Bartonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Charles Melton, Hank Melton and Tommy Melton; 1 sister, Darlene Smith; 2 daughters, Donna Jean (Melton) Stevens, and Karen Sue Carter.

Bill worked for Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for 37 years, retiring from the cleaning house in 1993.

His graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.  Elder Clayton Denning will officiate.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
