Zelma E Kettering

Born November 2, 1921 in Green Valley to Walter and Opal (McMullen) Boyer, she married Roy W. Kettering on October 11, 1942 in Missouri.  He died February 7, 1992.

Also preceding in death were 1 daughter, Barbara Kettering; 1 granddaughter, Taunya Schreiber; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.

Surviving are 1 daughter, Cheryl (Don) Knauss of Idaho; 2 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchldren; and 1 sister, Evelyn (Max) Krukewitt of Pekin.

Zelma was a homemaker who was also a very active babysitter.  There are scores of Pekin people who consider Zelma their adopted grandma.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, and bird watching.

Zelma was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel.Rev. Paul Cook will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., tonight  (Wednesday) at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
