Albert Rulli was born on November 15, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA and passed away on May 16, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama. His life will be defined by his service to country, his profound devotion to his family, and friends.
He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. In November of 1960, he joined the Air Force. After basic training in San Antonio, TX, he started his amazing 28-year military career with stops in Alabama, Turkey, Georgia, Okinawa, Florida, South Korea, Italy and finishing up where it all started in San Antonio, TX at his headquarters retiring as a SR NCO in 1988. Throughout his military service, he was the recipient of many awards and commendations like the National Defense Service Medal. He loved serving his country and felt that it was his calling. Over the years, he made lasting memories and endured relationships some still continuing to this day.
After his honorable discharge/retirement from the Air Force, he had various jobs with certain levels of responsibilities. However, his favorite job in retirement was his last one working in Customer Service at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. The position provided him with the opportunity to interact with people which he thoroughly enjoyed and struck his passion for music. He had the best of both worlds.
Albert had many interests. He loved football season and watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and the Crimson Tide. Also, he was a big fan of music and had a very large vinyl collection. Being Italian, he enjoyed eating and making certain dishes – rigatoni, pizza, and sausage sandwiches. Furthermore, he was always up for a movie. With some of these interests, he was like a walking encyclopedia remembering dates and stats.
Above all else, Albert’s greatest joy was found in his role as proud father to Tony (Lisa Poston) Angie (Phillip Coshatt) and to his beloved dog, Jackson. Also, as a grandfather to Remy, Jacob, and Cameron. He was a father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. His spirit and legacy will continue to live through the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply. We will miss your sense of humor and you breaking out into dance anywhere the music moved you.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124 with visitation at 10:00 AM and the service at 11:00 AM followed by a luncheon. A committal service with military honors will take place on Monday, June 1st at Alabama National Cemetery at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert’s honor to Wounded Warrior Project or K9s for Warriors.
