Visitation will be one hour before the 2 p.m. Celebration of Alfred's Life at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Immediately after the service, the family will continue to greet friends in a special Celebration of Life Reception at the funeral home.
Alfred rededicated his life to Christ and joined the New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, after moving from Montgomery to Pelham in 1986.
After graduation from Druid High School in Tuscaloosa, Alfred served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the State of Alabama in various departments, including Mental Health, Public Health, and Education - Disability Determination, retiring with 27 years of service.
Alfred loved gardening, growing green plants, and working in his yard. He was fascinated with the weather, study of the Bible, and unexplained phenomenon. Ask him any question about the weather and he could answer it. He enjoyed helping others.
Memories of Alfred are cherished and loved by his devoted wife for over 35 years, Deloris "Lois" Prince; one daughter, Amelia Cunningham of Tuscaloosa; sons, Alfred Prince Jr. and Russel Prince of Pelham; grandson, Mykell Prince of Pelham; brothers, Willie D. Minor and Marcus Minor of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Dorothy Jean Minor and Lekeshia Minor of Tuscaloosa; devoted and loving cousins, Linda Rowser (Terry) of Tuscaloosa AL and David Prince of Brunswick GA; and many other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
OUR Hearts are so broken. We Thank God for you being in our lives, Prince. We saw the pain that you were feeling and tried to do what we could for you to be relieved; we prayed that it was God’s will to heal you. God’s will was to relieve you of the pain. Be at peace, my Prince, my love, companion and friend, and rest with God, our Father and King. Love always and forever. . . Lois
