Ally Ruth Cheek, age 7, was forever healed on December 16, 2020. Ally was born on April 24, 2013 in Birmingham, Alabama. Hugh and Morgan Cheek could not be more in awe of the privilege of being her parents. Her best friend and twin sister, Bailey Grace, finished her race with equal bravery in July 2019. Ally loved her brother James so much- and that love was reciprocated so well in the two years he was able to do so. Ally captured the hearts of anyone who was ever blessed to be in the room with her. The tribe of people given the gift of being a part of Ally’s short but impactful life was vast and loyal- grandparents, nurses, aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, other family and friends. Ally attended Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park School and was absolutely delighted to be able to be a student there- her beloved Nurse Bianca by her side- all the days she was able to be present. Ally lived a life of worship until her very last breath. She sang the praises of Jesus whether she was in the building at the Church at Brook Hills or simply laying on the floor kicking her legs with glee. Ally was the master of hugs and offered joy and love to each and every person she knew. Ally always seemed to have one hand in heaven and one on earth; displayed well in the excitement she expressed whenever she was a part of a time of prayer. While Ally’s life included a lot of suffering, the magnitude of joy she offered to the world around her almost made you forget it was so. Ally was sassy, observant, kind, extroverted, welcoming, and beautiful inside and out. Ally loved lights, music, water (swimming, baths, fountains and the like). While worship music was her favorite- she never met a Disney movie or song she did not enjoy. More than anything, Ally loved people and in that, she showed the love of God found in Jesus for all the world to see. She will be deeply missed by all of us who are still in the, “not yet”.
