Ashley Janae Thomas

Ashley Janae Thomas, age 42, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on September 5, 2020. She earned her MBA from University of Alabama at Birmingham and worked in sales with A-Chem Technologies, EMC and AT&T. Ashely’s tenacity made her a force to be reckoned with. She was affectionately known for being “bossy” and for making grand entrances while being “fashionably late”. Her dedication and love for her family was unquestionable. She is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Ross Tinney; grandparents, Carey and Evelyn Billingsley, Merle Tinney and Benjamin E. Lloyd Sr. She is survived by her devoted husband, Ashley Derrell Thomas Sr.; two sons, Ashley Derrell Thomas Jr. and Ashton Dominic Thomas; stepson, Tyler Goss; parents, Ann B. Lloyd and Benjamin E. Lloyd Jr.; siblings, Sean Tinney, Christopher Tinney, Jessica Tinney Elmes (Thomas); step-brother, Benjamin E. Lloyd III; grandfather, Thomas Tinney; grandmother, Anna Lloyd; and mother-in-law, Luturicia McGraw. She is also survived by a host of other wonderful relatives, in-laws and friends. Visitation and funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Southern Heritage Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm. A family only graveside burial will be held following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the AJ & Ashton Memorial Fund, a Go Fund Me account set up for the needs of Ashley’s immediate family.
